About the role
Every person in our business depends on payroll being right. As our Payroll Officer, you'll be the person who makes that happen ensuring our team members are paid accurately and on time, every time.
Based at our Rockdale office and reporting to the Payroll Manager, this is a great opportunity for someone with solid end-to-end payroll experience who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys solving problems and wants to grow their career within a busy, high-volume environment. You'll be processing payroll across a large, diverse workforce covered by multiple Modern Awards, so strong attention to detail and a willingness to keep learning are key.
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
Processing accurate and timely end-to-end payroll for a large, multi-award workforce across multiple states
Interpreting Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements and the Fair Work Act to ensure correct pay rates and entitlements
Managing employee records including new starters, terminations, leave, allowances and variations
Calculating and processing superannuation, PAYG withholding and other statutory obligations
Responding to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
Preparing payroll reports and reconciliations as required
Supporting payroll audits and compliance processes
Identifying and flagging discrepancies, and contributing to process improvements.
Desired Skills and Experience
What we are looking for
We're looking for someone who takes real pride in getting it right. You don't need to tick every single box if you have solid payroll experience and the right values, we'd love to hear from you.
Experience in an end-to-end payroll processing role (2+ years preferred)
Working knowledge of Modern Awards and the Fair Work Act
Experience in facilities services, cleaning, security or a similarly complex award environment is a real advantage
Proficiency with payroll software
Strong attention to detail and a methodical, accurate approach to your work
Good communication skills
Comfortable answering employee queries clearly and professionally
Solid Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to manage competing deadlines in a high-volume environment
A team-oriented approach and genuine commitment to accuracy and compliance
